My name is Stefano Baraldi, i was born in 1975 in Bologna, Italy.

I have always been fascinated by interactivity, computer graphics, design and programming of collaborative environments.
I was the co-founder and lead programmer of Tremens Games, a startup focused on 3d games back in 1997, and then worked as a consultant and developer for several companies.

I graduated (MSc) with honors in Computer Science at the University of Bologna in 2005 with prof. Fabio Vitali (UniBO) and Alberto Del Bimbo (UniFI).
My master’s thesis “wikiWall: natural interaction for the Brainstorming“ is about knowledge-building using concept maps and interactive surfaces.

After the thesis i started a PhD at MICC (Media Integration and Communication Center) of the University of Florence, my advisor was prof. Alberto Del Bimbo.
My research topic was “TableTop interaction for the management of cognitive structures”, investigating on the emergent world of TableTop devices and interaction techniques applied to groupware, knowledge management, enhanced meetings and constructive learning.

From 2006 to 2007 i also collaborated with Natural Interaction, inventing, researching and developing new ways, methods and devices to make people interact with digital media. In particular i prototyped and developed one of the first commercial FTIR multi-touch tables.


At the end of 2008 i succesfully completed my PhD at the University of Florence, and took a position as project leader for InformaSistemi S.p.A., designing and developing advanced products for multi-user / multi-touch interaction, and interactive digital signage.
